Britain's violent crime record is worse than any other country in the European union, it has been revealed. Farmers' lobby groups on Tuesday demanded clarity on a proposal that agricultural land become a "national asset", which they fear is a move towards nationalisation. Although Land Affairs director-general Thozi Gwanya said the government was not considering nationalisation, and that making land a national asset was just a land reform "option... African National Congress Youth League leader Julius Malema ...led University of Johannesburg students in the song, "Shoot the boere, they are rapists." The horrific rape of a paramedic who was treating a toddler for burn wounds has outraged residents of Durban Deep, west of Johannesburg. Nelson Mandela's former wife Winnie has turned on her ex-husband and accused him of 'betraying' the blacks of South Africa in a scathing attack. Mrs Mandela, 73, said that the former ANC Leader had done nothing for poor black people and should not have accepted the Nobel Peace Prize with the man who jailed him, FW De Klerk.
