With large North Slope resources, Alaska has the opportunity to be a major supplier of natural gas to North America, Rich Kruger, president of ExxonMobil Production Company, said today in a keynote address at the 2010 Meet Alaska Conference in Anchorage. The development of natural gas at Point Thomson stands out as a great example of the opportunity. <p>ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Anchorage police officer was shot several times as he sat in his parked patrol car early Saturday in an apparent drive-by shooting, a police spokesman said.</p>
<p>The officer was in a residential area near downtown after taking a report about an assault that had occurred elsewhere in the city. Someone then drove up to the side of the cruiser and opened fire at about 2 a.m., police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker said.</p>
ANCHORAGE, Alaska A longtime critic of Sarah Palin on Friday filed an ethics complaint alleging past aides of the former Alaska governor misused state resources during her run as the Republican vice presidential candidate. Andree McLeod filed her complaint with the state attorney general's office. Five other ethics complaints filed by McLeod against Palin or her staff have been dismissed, although one included a recommendation that ethics training be provided for a staffer who made questionable comments in e-mails. A sixth complaint by McLeod is pending.
