Cancer hotlines and doctors offices have been flooded with calls following the release of new government guidelines on mammograms that contradict previous medical advice. The recommendation surprised many this week, stating women should start getting mammograms in their 50s, rather than in their 40s as the American Cancer Society has advised for years.
