Colvin may be mistaken on torture
One wonders if Richard Colvin, the Canadian diplomat whose warnings about torture of Taliban prisoners by Afghans has created a firestorm of recriminations, had any idea of what he was unleashing when he compiled his report? As an honest man, he might have been too prone to accept complaints by supposed victims. Taliban and al-Qaida prisoners routinely claim they were tortured, which some (media included) confuse with factual evidence. A feeding frenzy is now underway with the federal government vulnerable.
